About St Joseph Integrated Secondary School
A Catholic boarding school at Benga Parish, Nkhotakota — forming disciplined students through faith, rigorous study, and service to Malawi.
Our Story

Founded in 2025 in Nkhotakota District, St Joseph Integrated Secondary School was established to offer serious secondary education where opportunity has long been limited. The school stands on the main Salima–Nkhotakota road near Benga market, serving families across the lakeshore region and beyond.
Under the spiritual guidance of the Missionary Community of St. Paul the Apostle (MCSPA), we integrate academic rigour with practical formation — preparing students not only for examinations, but for lives of integrity, leadership, and service.
Mission & Values
Our motto, Duc in Altum — Cast into the Deep — calls students to courage, excellence, and purposeful endeavour. Education here forms the whole person: mind, character, and conscience.
We pursue faith formation, academic excellence with local relevance, holistic human development, community service, and environmental stewardship — the foundations through which students grow into confident, compassionate leaders.
Leadership

The school is led by Fr. Steven Jerry Ochieng, MCSPA, Director, supported by a dedicated team of educators and staff committed to disciplined community life and high academic standards.
Leadership at St Joseph models the quiet strength of our patron, St Joseph — practical compassion, responsibility, and fidelity to the Catholic mission of the school.
Catholic Formation

As a Catholic institution, prayer, sacramental life, and moral teaching shape daily rhythm alongside study. Boarding life provides the stability in which students learn discipline, respect, and care for one another.
Formation is not separate from academics — it is the environment in which serious learning takes root and graduates are prepared to serve their families, church, and nation with confidence.
